1. Your local settings
Scenook does not require a Scenook account. Layouts, selected themes, world-clock cities, sound settings, watchlists and data-source settings are saved in the app’s storage on your device. We do not operate a server that receives or synchronizes these settings.
API keys entered in the dedicated key field are stored in the device Keychain using a device-only accessibility setting. Endpoint URLs and other configuration fields are stored with app settings, so do not put secrets directly into a URL or an ordinary text field.
2. Optional market data
When you enable a live data source, the app sends HTTPS requests from your device to the provider you configure. Requests can include symbols, quote currencies, other endpoint parameters and the credential you supply. The provider also receives network information such as your IP address.
These requests do not pass through a Scenook quote server. Data providers handle requests under their own terms and privacy policies. You control the provider, authentication settings and refresh interval. Live quote requests and price-alert checks stop when the app leaves the foreground. Sample mode does not require your provider credentials.
3. Purchases
Apple processes in-app purchases and billing. Scenook uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information, such as product identifiers, verification results and revocation status, to unlock purchased features and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment-card number or bank details.
Apple may retain purchase records under its own policies. A refund or revocation can remove the associated entitlement. Removing the app does not remove Apple’s purchase records.
4. Advertising and privacy choices
When advertising is enabled for users without ad removal, Scenook uses Google AdMob and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). Google’s SDK may process IP addresses and approximate location derived from them, device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, crash information and performance diagnostics for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and SDK operation.
Scenook currently requests non-personalized ads and disables Google’s publisher first-party identifier feature. It does not request App Tracking Transparency permission or intentionally access the advertising identifier. Non-personalized ads can still involve data processing; they do not mean that no data is collected.
Where required, the app asks Google UMP to present privacy choices before requesting ads. You can revisit available choices in Settings → Ad privacy options. If no choices are required for your region, the app explains that. An ad-removal purchase stops app ad requests once its entitlement is verified. You can still open privacy options without re-enabling ads.
5. Sound and device permissions
Ambient sounds are bundled playback files. Scenook does not record microphone audio or request camera, contacts or precise-location access. World-clock cities are chosen by you; they do not require GPS. The app does not run its own analytics or crash-reporting service, but the third-party services described above may process their own diagnostics.
6. This website and support
This website is hosted on Alibaba Cloud servers in mainland China. Website requests, including IP addresses and other technical information, are processed to deliver and protect the site. Alibaba Cloud also provides DNS for this domain. We do not enable website access logs or add advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or cookies. Error logs may contain request details needed for troubleshooting and security; these logs are rotated and retained only as needed for those purposes.
If you email support, the app’s operator and email service providers process your email address, message and any information you choose to include so we can respond. Send only what is needed to explain the issue, and remove credentials and other private information from screenshots.
7. Retention and deletion
App settings remain on your device until you change or remove them or remove the app. Device or operating-system backups may retain app data according to your device settings. Keychain items can persist after uninstalling an app; clear each saved API key in the app and save before uninstalling if you want to remove it.
We keep support correspondence only as needed to handle the request and meet applicable legal or security obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence that we control, subject to those obligations. Apple, Google, Alibaba Cloud and your chosen quote provider manage their own retention; we do not control their independent records.
8. Your choices and rights
You can use sample quotes, disable live sources, clear API keys, change available ad privacy choices, restore purchases and contact support about information you have sent us.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Where consent is used, withdrawing it does not affect earlier lawful processing. We may request proportionate information to verify a request. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Where a legal basis is required, processing to provide requested features and answer support requests is based on providing the service; required consent is used for relevant advertising or device-storage choices; security and misuse prevention may rely on legitimate interests. Third-party providers explain their own legal bases and rights processes in their policies.
9. International processing and children
Apple, Google, Alibaba Cloud, your email provider and your selected market-data provider may process information in countries outside your residence. Their privacy policies explain the applicable safeguards and contact options.
Scenook is a general-audience utility and is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to our support address, contact us so we can review and remove information we control as appropriate.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when app behavior or service providers change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes that require additional notice or consent will be handled as applicable.
For questions or privacy requests, use the contact address below. This policy does not override Apple’s, Google’s, Alibaba Cloud’s or a chosen market provider’s own privacy notices.
